Rule Changes

We will post all new rule changes on this page.  It is important to note that all rules go through a strong vetting process as follows:

  1. A proposal will be made to the Advisory Committee by the General Manager.
  2. The Advisory Committee and General Manger will discuss the value of the rule along with the wording of the rule.
  3. The General Manager will decide if the new proposal should be presented to the Lyndon Board for approval.
  4. The Board will either approve or disapprove.
  5. If approved, the will then be added or edited in the Lyndon Rec Rule book and added to this page.

SPRING SEASON ROSTER FORMATION RULE

(Approved February 2022)

Unless requested to be put back in the draft, a player returning to the same division of which they played in the previous spring will be automatically assigned to the same team.

Prior to team assignment, a player may designate
one team or coach for which he/she does not wish to play.  If drawn by the designated team, the card must be returned to the pool.

Players or their families do not have the option to choose the team (including teammate and coaches) they want to play for during the spring season unless specifically stated below.

Brothers or sisters will be assigned to the same team unless requested otherwise.

We will attempt to honor, but not guarantee, all requests from Tee ball families concerning teammates and/or coaches but must be done prior to the draft or the request may not able to be completed.

THE FALL RULE
Unless requesting to be put back in the draft, a player will be added to the roster of the Head Coach of which this player played for that is also the head coach of a spring team in the same division.  (For clarification, the player can stay with his/her fall head coach into the spring)

If a player is returning to to the same division in the spring and also played in the fall, the player will be automatically placed with the spring team unless specifically requests to play with their fall coach.  (The intent of this rule is to follow along with the intent of the rule to allow players to stay with their fall coach)

If a player requests to be placed back into the draft, he/she will not be placed with the same coach of either the spring or the fall and will be placed, at random, to another team.

The player will be placed in the draft if that players fall head coach is not coaching in the spring and if that player did not play in the previous spring season.

In the case where the number of players from the fall, when added to the number of returning players from the spring, exceeds the roster limit, the new players will be selected at random.  Those fall players that are not able to be added to the roster will be added to the pool

The rules that apply to the player staying with their fall head coach will only apply to the divisions of Junior and lower ages in baseball and softball.

Please note that this rule has passed the board approval but on a trial basis and it may be adjusted as we learn more about how to proceed.
