The management of a league the size of Lyndon requires a lot of people such as volunteers and paid staff.  We are always looking for quality individuals to fill many positions at Lyndon Recreation.  

UMPIRES

We are always looking for umpires for all ages for both baseball and softball.  If you are interested in umpiring and you have no experience or you have years of experience, we want you to umpire at Lyndon.

CONCESSION WORKERS

One of our growth goals at Lyndon is to re-energize our concession stands which includes opening all three.  This will take some work and time but we hope to have two concessions open by the first week of May and then the third soon after that.  We will of course need concession workers for these stands.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle face-to-face customer transactions.
  • Prepare cold and hot items.
  • Clean dishes and rotate stock.
  • Practice effective communication skills while serving quality products.
  • Utilize communication skills to attract customers and enhance their overall experience.
  • Provide customers with efficient and friendly checkout services to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service while working in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Serve food and beverages to customers in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Proper cash handling, greeting, and serving guests at the registers, taking orders, and accepting payments, handling cash, debit, and credit cards.
  • Replenish food from the storage area when needed.
  • Prepare food such as popcorn, hot dogs, ice cream dishes, and fountain sodas, using standard formulas or following directions.
  • Prepare bills for food, using cash registers, calculators, or adding machines; and accept payment and make change.
  • Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment, and clean dishes and fountain equipment.
  • Insure all sanitation procedures are followed relating to all local licensing regulations.
  • Other duties associated with the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 14 years old.
  • Must utilize excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with customers.
  • Possess excellent cash handling skills.
  • Present a neat appearance.
  • Must be very reliable and punctual.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Standing, stooping, and bending for long periods of time.
SCHEDULE
  • We are super flexible with the schedule with a schedule determined at least one week in advance. 
  • The typical work schedule is typically from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm M-F.  You pick the days and times you can work.
  • We do have tournaments and other weekend opportunities that will need to be filled.  We prefer hiring those that can work an occasional weekend but it is not required.
PAY
  • The starting pay is $9.00 per hour with at .50 cent raise each year if you return from the previous year.
  • Tips are split up between all workers for the evening.
  • Higher salaries are possible for those with extensive experience.
  • We pay each week on Friday by check for the previous week and we do submit taxes for Concession Workers.

We will put you to work on your first day but we will train you. It is pretty easy.
